Make a Statement with your Front Door

Summer is the best time of year to spruce up your front door with new color and visual appeal. The front door of your home sets the stage for your interior decor and style.  Have your front entry tell the story of what’s to come.  Create an inviting and interesting entry that will surely make an impression before a guest enters (and you too!).

Color
Since the front door of the home is (usually) the focal point of the main facade, painting it a bright and/or vibrant color, emphasizes it’s importance.  Have fun with it and add a splash of color!

Details
Unique details, such as an interesting side window or an unusual style door, draws the eye in.  Adding inexpensive details and embellishments, like the resin garland above the door( in the picture below), dresses up a typical entry to make an interesting and unique statement.

Greenery
No matter your color palette, adding greenery to your entry area, continues the fluidity of bringing the outdoors in and the indoors out.  Surrounding your space with plants and flowers is a wonderful way to welcome your guests and to soften up the hard lines of the house surface.

Quieter may be better
Your front door color doesn’t always have to be a show-stopper.  A subtle color may be more appealing.  The use of light, pastel hues are a nice way to incorporate color but in a quieter way.  The light colored greens, yellows, and blues on these doors are so tranquil and inviting.

Number Display
Showcase your digits on the door.  Either in a bold or subtle way, share with everyone the importance of your home.  I love the look of putting the numbers on the flat panel of the front door…so elegant and classic.

Well, so far we took off the railing and I have toned down the various colors in the landscaping. So along with the shutters I should think about the front door too. The photos you have on here are beautiful. And you have also inspired me to look (maybe make?) a wreath. Lots to think on; thank you for the ideas.

I love your front door. I want to paint mine but I can’t decide. It’s a tough decision. I wanted spring green but after seeing that pretty blue/aqua door above… hmmmm =)

Just go for it MaryAnn! Choose a color that is bright and eye-popping. My front door is a spring green / apple green color and I love it! I love the turquoise door as well. I can’t wait to hear about what you decide. xo Jenna

Love these! My door is bright red with our number in white vinyl. I get compliments on it all the time.

The orange/aqua door I actually just featured on my blog earlier this week, small world! And I looove the yellow double door with the rainboots in the entry. That’s sort of the color I’m going for for my back door which I should be fixing up next month…

    Fun post!
