Bring on the Burlap: Is it a Ballard Design Knockoff?

I JUST received this “To-The-Trade” email from Ballard Designs with the subject line:

Bring on the Burlap

Eh Hem… does this remind you of something??  Something that I just posted about earlier today?  Yes, you remember… my ottoman makeover using burlap coffee sacks.  If you didn’t see it, here’s a peak and you can read all about it in {this post}

What do you think…how does mine compare?  Do you think it passes as a Ballard Design Knockoff?

Here are some more best-of the Burlap Collection at Ballard

Gorgeous burlap window panels complete with a large size, hand embroidered damask pattern.   I love the look, but not the price tag! … at $200 a panel these are quite expensive (don’t ya think?!).  If I were to DIY this project, I’d use drop cloth material and this or this stencil to create window treatments for a fraction of the cost.

Loving the natural look and texture of these message boards, but again this is something uber-easy to create.   Sorry Ballard…I love your designs, but wouldn’t spend $90.  That brings an idea to my head…

Such a unique ottoman and perfect to use on it’s own or as a pair.  Similar to my ottoman, I love showing the stamping of the coffee sack.  Obviously this is not a real sack, as mine was, but it’s still an interesting detail.

So tell me… would you rather buy or DIY?

      Thanks Gloria. I always say, “Why buy when you can DIY?” I would never pay $200+ either… Thanks for the kind comment and for stopping by SAS Interiors! xo Jenna

      That’s sweet Michele….I don’t know if mine is MORE gorgeous, but because of the price, I’ll take it any day, lol. xo Jenna

      I know – too funny, right?! Thanks for saying that you like mine better than Ballard. If I could make more, I certainly wouldn’t charge $200+, lol. Thanks Catie! xo Jenna

      I know it’s not square…sorry! But I would take a $5 rectangular ottoman any day over a $269 square ottoman…right? Thanks so much for the comment! Jenna
