What an amazing weekend it’s been and it’s not even over yet since today is a Holiday thanks to the founder of our country, Christopher Columbus. I have been in a crazed-paranoid-funk lately. I’ve been uber busy, with all good things, but it’s been a wee bit stressful and keeping me away from what I truly love… DIYing! I haven’t had much time to venture into new projects, but this weekend that all changed. I felt like Stella from How Stella Got Her Groove Back, except instead of getting my groove back in the romantic department, my groove was back in creating and DIYing.
Of course none of my projects are complete or photographed (yet), BUT at least I can share a sneak peak of what’s happening on The Homestead. And I promise, later in the week, I will show you in more detail what I’ve been up to!
To start off, my husband and I are celebrating our 8th anniversary tomorrow and even though he wanted to get me jewelry, I insisted that I wanted AND needed some power tools. To go along with that, I needed new saw horses too. He’s such a sweetheart – After spending the morning at Lowe’s, he spent the early part of the afternoon putting them together during the time when he’s usually enjoying the football games – what a guy, right?? I guess saw horses are as unromantic as last years gift. (I guess I can be woo’ed with tools instead of jewelry, lol)
And while he was doing that, I was busy sanding and priming a new project. I’ve been looking for a nightstand for a while for the base of a new project (I’ll share more soon, but for now I’m keeping it on the DL, a.k.a. down low), and my mom found this on Saturday – it was perfect and I was so excited to jump right in and get started…
I was just bouncing from project to project and NO ONE WAS STOPPING ME!
I was also working on my latest venture, which is a home decor collection, called SAS Signature. It’s just in the beginning stages and I’m hoping for itto come to fruition soon! This is one of the prototypes, which isn’t even complete, but I wanted to share it.
This weekend has been just beautiful – amazing weather, time spent with family, and checkmarks on my to-do list! What did you do over the weekend? Did you work on any projects or was your time spent having some R&R?
